Jane and myself were on a two-night stay in a hotel in Weymouth, Dorset, on the south coast of England. We were visiting family we’d not seen since before the covid pandemic. On the first morning in the hotel, we were getting ready to go out. We were both gathering our stuff together, Jane on one side of the room and me on the other. I was getting all my camera gear together. I picked up my spectacles case and as I did so, a small coin fell from it onto the bed.
