THE MESSAGE

You remind me of a typewriter I once owned on Earth. I was a secretary and was fortunate to have one of the first ever in the office where I worked. I treasured that machine. I used to call it Bessy. I treated it with care and everyone was always telling me it was an inanimate object. But I still greeted it every morning and said, “Goodbye Bessie” every night.
When I was told I could come through to you this night, I was delighted. I’m using you like I used Bessie, to create my words. Isn’t that progress, don’t you think? This is the way of the world, progress. It can be seen in every aspect of life. Things start from little seeds and become bigger treasures for the world. I’m not overly familiar with the gadget you are using to write with, but I do like the idea. I could have used that every day for taking my shorthand notes.
I worked in a large insurance company as what was called head staff of the pool. I had responsibilities to teach others that wanted to progress their typing abilities. I never let any of them use Bessy though!
I used to marvel at the industrial progress I lived through. We even had electricity in a few of our rooms at home. I remember when the telephone started to become popular. We thought that was magic work. We never could afford one at home though.
Yes, over the years I spent on earth I saw so many devices, as you call them, come into the world. Over time, my early years seemed so old-fashioned as all the mechanical wonders came to be. Nothing stands still. There is no such state. Everything is in a state of progress. As you live, you do so in that state of progress. It is around you and within you. Yes, you too need to progress.
You have a saying about living with the times. That is so true. If you don’t, you’ll be left behind, and then you will always be chasing everything. The only time progress would ever stop is if time did too. But as that’s not possible in your world, then moving with time ever onwards, is how life should be.
Progress is not limited to your world though. Everywhere and everything is in a state of progress. Everyone on earth, and every living soul in any world is progressing. I nearly called you Bessy then. Sorry.
I have enjoyed the opportunity to share my few thoughts with you, and those people that will read them. It is indeed such a joy.
I do hope that all of you enjoy your progress and remain prepared to change and adapt. Goodbye. If you were Bessy, I’d be putting your cover on now!
