THE MESSAGE

Hello to you from me in my world.

You’ve recently been using the word transient to help you overcome temporary annoyances. Declaring that the disturbance or interruption is not going to last very long is helping you to overcome your emotional changes because of it.

If only all things in life on earth were able to be declared as transient! But it’s a good starting point. An acceptance that whatever it is, is not likely to stay around for very long. Your attitude of ‘seeing it through’ is far better than reacting negatively.

Do you know that life on earth is transient. You’ll only be as old as you are today. Tomorrow you’ll be older. Next week even older and in a year, today will be a fleeting memory you’ll struggle to recall.

Everything and everyone are on a transient journey through time. The planets and stars, the clouds in the skies, the rivers and streams and the blades of grass in the field. Everything is in motion, a constant through time.

I was suggesting you write, “sit back and enjoy the ride”, but some might consider that a wrong analogy. But you know how you have to try harder to walk upstream in a flowing river. It’s harder than going with the flow. Some people choose to fight progress and declare they don’t like change. They might as well say they don’t like life! Life is change.

Today is transient and tomorrow will be also. Between the two, many aspects of life will change to some extent. Plants and animals will become extinct. People will leave earth for the next life. The sun will set and the darkness will await a new morning. So, if everything is transient, temporary, and in motion, how should you and your readers react?

I’ll give the answer in a while but I challenge to think what my answer will be. You know. It’s just a case of whether you’ll remember.

People on earth often suggest that without the measurement of time, everything would be better. How so? Whether you measure time or not, everything is in a constant state of transience. Nothing is still. Even as you scribe my words, the ground your chair is on is moving faster than any man-made object could ever achieve.

The secret lies in the answer to my question, “how should you react to change, transience and motion?”

By getting more out of the moment right now. Living in them with focus, without distractions, without the noise in your mind wanting to distract you. Now - here’s the big secret. The more you practice living in the moment, the here and now, the slower the passing of time will feel and the less you’ll notice it. It’s achievable with discipline, patience, and commitment. The moment will still be transient, but with a difference.

Remember at the beginning when I said the cliche, “sit back and enjoy the ride”. That is exactly what you would be effectively doing if you chose to live in this moment more. Stop fighting change, motion, time. You’ll never win. Instead, embrace every moment. Sharpen your wits, your attention span, your focus, and your busy mind will fall in line.

So my friends, indeed treating the moment with the attitude it is transient is perfect for improving your ability to live in the moment. This is the secret to you spiritual enlightenment. Much to ponder there I think!

I’ve enjoyed this form of expression and I wish each of you much success with your transient journey on the planet. Have fun with it too!

Bye
