THE MESSAGE

What is it that makes a good medium better than another?

Good day to you sir and thank you for allowing me to speak through this exciting form of mediumship.

Now, back to that question. I heard the clatter of bin lids in your mind when you wrote my question. That is because you feared having to answer the question yourself. That would have been, shall we say, awkward for you?

It’s a question you’ve never wanted to answer for fear of upsetting someone else. Don’t worry my friend, I will broach the question from one point only. It is completely right and understandable that mediums should avoid denigrating other mediums work. Often it’s bias, unfair, and uncalled for.

There are no bad mediums on earth, as there are no bad ones here. The differences lie only in the understanding of the role. Too many people on earth all too quickly suggest that a good medium is one who regularly presents evidence of our existence in my world. Of course, that helps, but only to assure the listener.

A complete medium would be someone that understands the task, the expectations, and the limitations. That is just three points I’ve picked from a catalogue of other qualities that separate the ordinary from the extraordinary.

The second of those points, the expectations, is probably the biggest challenge to mediums. They set expectations on their work that really are not achievable, nor required. People on earth set expectations as well that are far too unreasonable, particularly with that medium present.

The better medium understands both their current abilities and their known limitations.

Those mediums that are waiting to see us, or feel us, or sense us physically are setting themselves on a path of failure.

A medium is just that, a medium, and nothing more or nothing less. One medium is as good or as bad as the other. These unnecessary judgments come only from the individual medium. I have heard you quote that anyone could be the next great medium waiting to be discovered. Though I understand the essence of what you’re saying, you are also setting a greater expectation that may not be for that person.

It is important that each of us here, and there, recognise and appreciate the limitations of the communication. It is fraught with difficulties that both we and you have to overcome. So burdening that process with unreachable expectations does nothing to improve the work. We do our very best within the limitations imposed on us with every connection, as should you all on earth. As you have often heard said, it is not an exact science.

Don’t misread that for complacency or lack of effort though. The better medium works to the highest standards possible every time they connect with us. Complacency is not a friend to the work. You have surely heard the reaction of some of those you consider great mediums, when they relay a piece of information that even shocks them!

Let me use your pen to share a final message to every medium that reads these words:

“Do your best every time you connect with us here. Nothing more is expected of you. Let that be your vision moving forward. To learn through the experience and to repeat your processes every single time. You are a medium, and you will help others through your work.”

Thank you for writing that so accurately. So let me finish with the answer to the opening question. That is, there are no great, or not so great mediums. All are doing their best with the tools and senses they have. From now onwards, do not entertain that question again. Stop comparing, complaining or feeling inadequate.

I’ve said enough. Thank you for this outstanding platform for my words to rest.

Goodbye to you all.
